For the sake of newbies, I report each step:

M-x cd RET

Then Emacs prompts for the new directory, for d:/ enter (slash required):

d:/ RET

Now you have to refresh the speedbar:

M-x speedbar-refresh RET

Pressing g to refresh the speedbar doesn't work on my Emacs - it starts flashing (visible-bell is t) - maybe something is wrong in my configuration.

I'm happy anyway.
