maybe its a bug with 22 have you tried building from the CVS. i have 23 build from CVS on my debian lenny although i use imap i did not notice any trouble. maybe you can try building 23 on a separate location that does not mess with your system installed emacs and try your configuration on 23. -- Nurullah Akkaya
