doc-view bookmark page

Hi,

I am trying to make doc-view remember last page i read in a book so i can jump back to where i was.
turns out saveplace does not save the page i left. i saw two undocumented functions in doc-view

doc-view-bookmark-jump
doc-view-bookmark-make-record

can anyone give me pointers on how i can make a wrapper function that will save the page 
i am on and allow me to jump to it? or is it possible to use bookmark-jump with doc-view?
