You can try:
(defun my-kill-buffer-hook-fun ()
(let ((kill-buffer-hook nil))
(kill-buffer (buffer-base-buffer))))
You'll also want to try and make sure that your my-kill-buffer-hook-fun
is run last in kill-buffer-hook.
