True.  It brings to mind the days when doing a Backspace invoked "help".

Thanks.  I've been using emacs for decades and that (obviously sensible)
customization had never occured to me.

I've been using "M-x search-forward" or "M-x re-search-forward" when
I felt the need to yank into a search.
