Years of usage do not equal years of experience.

Again, since IDEs do not require you to understand the details of what
you are doing, even using an IDE for a lot of years does not make you
an advanced user.  Heck, I have been using Microsoft Word for ten
years without thinking about myself as a confident user.

Well, if Emacs packages can't manage to accomplish such tasks in a
straightforward manner, then I would say such tasks are not trivial at
all.
