Why this? Info file emacs does not exist

Subject: Why this? Info file emacs does not exist

I've recently installed GNU Emacs 23.4.1 from the source on my Fedora 16, in order to get the latest version. But when I tried to read the emacs manual, I got this: "Info-find-file: Info file emacs does not exist". Does anybody know why and how to fix it? Thanks :-)
