I hasten to add, to try to forestall replies...  Yes, such a translation
*is* laughable.  I can see that for the French version, for example
("la semelle exception").  I still think it might be better than nothing.

Best might be to be able to see the original English as well, side by side
as in Google translate, for comparison.
