In case it's off interest, here's how I deal with those things:
- Use Cygwin's git
- Use CPAN with Cygwin's Perl to install Ack
- Use Cygwin's SSH
So far `find-dired', `find-grep', and so on have worked fine. Much
better than the results I've gotten from solutions other than Cygwin.
