Whenever I have to cope with a nongit Repo, I try to set up a
local git mirror and keep them in sync. This way I can work even
offline, which happens quite often for me, pushing the changeset
when I'm back at internet. But so far I never was in the need to
talk to a CVS server, SVN only... And SVN has very good support
for two-way sync. My experiences with CVS are limited to do a one
time conversion from CVS to git and only using git afterwards.
