I forgot to tell, that I use (server-start) in the .emacs so, this way I can start the misbehaving emacs in foreground, by using screen, without problems with terminal and ttys, and that it is supervised by s6-rc tools from skarnet.org, similar to runit or daemontools by djb. Jean
