Well, I've fixed the issue in CVS (see changelog). But the code may still have 
its issues. Some math reveiled that the database approach we chose got into
trouble when it was 6% full. The new design should work until it's 94% full 
(full as in the theoretical maximum amount that could be stored considering
the amount of space that the DB uses; growing is still not implemented).
