an error while running subhurd

Hi,

I tried to run subhurd in another partition.
I mounted the partition in ~/sub-hurd.
I downloaded 
http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian-cd/K16/gnu-2007-12-01.tar.gz, and 
unzip and untar it in the ~/sub-hurd.
then
#settrans ~/sub-hurd ~/sub-hurd/ext2fs --readonly /dev/hd1s1
#boot -d ~/sub-hurd -I ~/sub-hurd/boot/servers.boot /dev/hd1s1
But I got a error: /hurd/ext2fs.static: hd1s1: Gratuitous error.
Can anyone tell what this error means?
