About "$(if $(KBUILD_VERBOSE:1=),@)"

    In the linux kernel makefile,there is some words like"$(if 
$(KBUILD_VERBOSE:1=),@)" in some line.
    Maybe KBUILD_VERBOSE:=1  will comparing the value of KBUILD_VERBOSE 
with 1 and return a result,but I want to find the  explain of such usage.
