[Help-nano] set the tabsize permanently

Can I set the tabsize to default at 2 instead of 8?

The manual states:

       -T cols (--tabsize=cols)
              Set the size (width) of a tab to cols columns.  The  value  
                      of  cols  must  be
              greater than 0.  The default value is 8.

But it's a PITA to constantly be entering --tabsize :(
