96 Hear me therefore, O mysons! I have bred you up in muchsimplicity, and
innocency, andmodesty, for the love of God,which has dropped down uponyou in
righteousness, that youshould be sanctified and justifiedfrom all sin and
wickedness; butye will not cease from your evildoings.
7 Abstain therefore
from thoseevil herbs which Jesus Christ doesnot dress: because such are notthe
plantation of the Father.
50 Tell them that all thesethings are true, and that
there isnothing in them that is not truebut all are firm and
trulyestablished.
66 Those that are maimed andshort, are they who have
believedindeed, but still are in greatmeasure full of wickedness; forthis cause
they are maimed andnot whole.
2 When I heard of your well-ordered love and
charity in God,being full of joy, I desired muchto speak unto you in the faith
ofJesus Christ.
41 I asked her, Lady, why is thetower built upon the water?
Shereplied, I said before to thee thatthou wert very wise to inquirediligently
concerning the building, therefore thou shalt find the truth. Amen. I
wouldtherefore that ye should now dothose things yourselves, whichin your
instructions you haveprescribed to others. 7 Jesus Christ will shew youthat I
speak truly. 7 Say to my sisters, that theylove the Lord; and be satisfiedwith
their own husbands, both inthe flesh and spirit.
4 Wherefore guard
yourselfagainst such persons; and thatyou will do, if you are not puffedup; but
continue inseparable fromJesus Christ our God, and fromyour bishop, and from
thecommands of the Apostles.
13 For even our God, JesusChrist, now that he is
in theFather, does so much the moreappear. Ye have loved me both when I
waspresent with you, and now beingabsent, ye cease not to do so.
14 Please him
under whom yewar; and from whom ye receiveyour wages.
114 Canst thou see more
notableRevelations than those whichthou hast already received?115 I answered
and said untohim, Sir, I only ask this onething upon the account of thethree
figures of the old womanthat appeared to me, that theRevelation may be
complete.
4 In whom also believing theywere saved in the unity of JesusChrist;
being holy men, worthyto be loved, and had in wonder;5 Who have received
testimonyfrom Jesus Christ, and arenumbered in the Gospel of ourcommon hope. 3
For having been thoughtworthy to obtain a most excellentname, in the bonds
which I carryabout, I salute the churches;wishing in them a union both ofthe
body and spirit of Jesus Christ, our eternal life: as also of faithand charity,
to which nothing ispreferred: but especially of Jesusand the Father; in whom if
weundergo all the injuries of theprince of this present world, andescape, we
shall enjoy God,4 Seeing, then, I have beenjudged worthy to see you, byDamas
your most excellent bishop;and by your worthy presbyters,Bassus and Apollonius;
and by myfellow-servant Sotio, the deacon;5 In whom I rejoice, forasmuchas he
is subject unto his bishop asto the grace of God; and to thepresbytery as to
the law of JesusChrist; I determined to writeunto you. 6 But if you shall love
my body,I shall have my course again torun.
Praytherefore for me, that I
mayaccomplish what I desire. unto. 26 Yes, they shall save all suchas do such
things, and walk ininnocence and simplicity.
All the rest of the stars, together
with the sun and moon, were the chorus to this star;but that sent out its
lightexceedingly above them all. 1 Exhorts them against heretics.
But
when Ishall have finished all the words, they shall be clearly understoodby the
elect. 5 He was also truly crucifiedby Pontius Pilate, and Herod theTetrarch,
being nailed for us inthe flesh; by the fruits of whichwe are, even by his most
blessedPassion;6 That he might set up a tokenfor all ages through his
resurrection,to all his holy and faithful servants, whether they be Jews or
Gentiles,in one body of his church. Give nooccasion to the Gentiles; lest
bymeans of a few foolish men, thewhole congregation of God beevil spoken of.
2
When I heard of your well-ordered love and charity in God,being full of joy, I
desired muchto speak unto you in the faith ofJesus Christ. 14 But consider
those who areof a different opinion from us,as to what concerns the grace
ofJesus Christ which is come unto us,how contrary they are to thedesign of
God.
60 They therefore that are yetto repent, if they repent they shallbecome
strong in the faith; thatis, if they repent now, whilst thetower is building.
But when Ishall have finished all the words, they shall be clearly understoodby
the elect.
9 For this cause thou artcomposed of flesh and spirit;that thou
mayest modify thosethings that appear before thy face.
