Joao Cardoso has a patch against 2.1.34 which allows you to save and
load structures and cell arrays. You can find it in the octave-forge
CVS tree in extra/patches. See:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/octave/octave-forge/extra/patches/octave-2.1.34-load-save.cc.patch?rev=1.1&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup
I have not tried this myself.
