Hi,
try the command 'run-octave'. Run this command by entering Meta-x,
then typing 'octave' and hitting return (*).
I did not know it until 1 minute ago, but I did 'C-h a' (control-h,
a, which maps to the function 'apropos'), entered 'octave', hit
return, and was given a list of octave-related functions.
Sorry, I don't have an answer to your previous questions.
