I've ran my test (described at http://elsteve.com/test_oct/index.html#bpsk_ber)
with the random number generator from http://www.agner.org/random/ and
found a speed improvement. It now takes 8.25 minutes to run which is
nearly twice as fast as when I used octave_rand::scalar() and about 40%
faster than the pure m-file approach.
http://www.agner.org/random/ is GPL'd.
