Do we have any Octave code for computing tetrachoric and polychoric
correlations from cross-tabulated data?
R has a package (under GPL) called "polycor":
http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/Descriptions/polycor.html
R also has a package for working with MV normal and t distributions:
http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/Descriptions/mvtnorm.html
For the normal:
dmvnorm gives the density
rmvnorm generates random deviates
pmvnorm computes the distribution function
and more.
