As a matter of fact, it is possible to make a PelicanHPC image for powerpc.
I distribute images for amd64 and i386, because I can build them on my
hardware. To build a powerpc image, one would need a powerpc machine that
runs Linux (well, I have a PS3 that runs Kubuntu, but using it would be a
little inconvenient). PelicanHPC is made by running a script. The only
requirements are to have  the live-helper and debootstrap packages from
Debian installed. This is just to point out that it's possible, in case you
would like more information.
