Hi,
just tried that on ubuntu 9.10. No luck here. Apparently the octave-executable is not built. I cannot find anything by the name 'octave' in the source-tree and make install does not install 'octave' either. gfortran is installed.

Isn't there a binary 3.2.4-package for ubuntu 9.10 somewhere?
For SuSE 11.2 octave-binaries 3.2.4 are available.
