Visual Entertainment's DVD makes discovering this ensemble film all the more enjoyable thanks to excellent audio and video presentations.
The disc itself sports nice audio and video along with a smattering of bonus material. Certainly compared to the original release, this two-disc set gives Freddy and Nancy the treatment they deserve. Still, it offers a lot to chew on. Rather, it's a sign that the system is just starting to adjust to the integration of powerful new technologies into the cultural fabric.
I highly recommend checking it out. An impressive horror debut that makes one want to leave the light on, in a lavish special edition, with a superb transfer.
Fans of film noir with a sense of humor may enjoy a rental, but those who revere the genre may find all the silliness a bitter pill to swallow.
There's plenty of grist for conspiracy theorists here, but the doc thankfully doesn't draw many conclusions.
