Type rlog p10scdgra1c.doc to see who has the file locked, and ask them to check it back in.

I don't know why you are getting the _1Mnaiml file.  Your comma-v file may be corrupted.  Try man rcsintro for more help.

Subject:        Help in checking out a file

I am trying to check out a file under RCS but get the message:

clomber 52 >co -l p10scdgra1c.doc
RCS/p10scdgra1c.doc,v  -->  p10scdgra1c.doc
revision 1.49 (locked)
co: p10scdgra1c.doc: Permission denied
co: see _1MNaiml

The checkout produces a copy of the file beginning with an underscore.

Any ideas as to what the problems is?

The filesystem is available both over nfs and windows domain via the cifs
protocol running on a Network Appliances file server.

Many thanks
Liz Stamp.
