That version is in all support ubuntu releases except lucid.

If you want to use it, upgrading to a newer release shouldn't be too hard

Debian has 1.0.0 in testing so it should only be a matter of syncing
that package into Ubuntu.  I hope the Ubuntu people can help with this.
