There's a similar question on comp.lang.smalltalk these days. Just do
./modules blox
before make.

No, it's just caused by ANSI exceptions. No problem.
By the way, 1.95.1 is out. It has lots of changes which show the way
to 2.0; but if you're satisfied with an older version you can stay with
it happily (the first steps towards Automake make packaging a bit harder
and probably a bit buggy too -- this will be solved in future versions).
