hello help-texinfo!
i have installed cygwin for win9x recently.
i think tht its such a fine thing for win users.
i have a question about texinfo.
i've used it recently and created an info file through
the gnu/cygwin utility makeinfo.
all worked fine in there:)
i wanna use the other tex related binaries to produce
other outputs such pdf, html & etc.
while using pdftex w/ an input file texinfo
it tries to search for a .fmt file, so i did a:
$ initex '\input pdftex \dump'
This is TeX, Version 3.14159 (Web2C 7.3.3) (INITEX)
(pdftex)
Beginning to dump on file pdftex.fmt
(format=pdftex 2001.8.21)
1319 strings of total length 23333
37 memory locations dumped; current usage is 20&14
322 multiletter control sequences
\font\nullfont=nullfont
0 words of font info for 0 preloaded fonts
0 hyphenation exceptions
Hyphenation trie of length 256 has 0 ops out of 1501
No pages of output.
Transcript written on pdftex.log.
to produce it. but when i compiled again
for the pdftex it gave me:
This is pdfTeX, Version 3.14159-14f-released-20000525 (Web2C 7.3.3)
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
im quite stymied aswell!
are there .fmt files readily available for use?
or my dumping and use of pdftex is just totally in haywire?
...pls. help =|<
thanks,
r gee
