    the pdf page numbers and the page number in the pages don't match.

I suppose there could be an option to avoid the negative (roman numeral)
page numbers and just start at 1.  It's just so traditional to have
roman numerals for the frontmatter ...

    use Advanced->Document Processing->Number Pages to number the first
    two pages as i and ii. 

I fear people would be even more troubled if the PDF pages don't start
at 1.
