Yeah, I have heard of conditions to deals like what you say. My old
company, NDA (consulting) got bought, and that was the only experience I
had with this sort of thing. They did accelerate our vesting too. My
feeling is that I wouldn't be one of the 'key' people, personally.

As for the sales meeting, I don't know. I am extremely busy with our
new
product that goes into beta on the 5th of April. As for Mitchell's new
title - his role has completely changed. As I said at lunch with you,
he
doesn't have day to day responsibility for engineering anymore - it is
all
Dave, James and myself doing it now. I did get a 'promotion' to be a
'director' of 'research'. Basically the same fucking shit I have always
done, new title, more responsbility and 5k more. I'll get shit and like
it. Mitchell's title change wasn't announced to anyone (I mentioned it
to
Dave and James and they didn't know -- I saw it the first time in his
signature), and nobody ever came to me to let me know that the one thing
I
asked for wasn't going to happen.

Honestly, between you and I - I am bored and would consider other
serious
offers at this point. What more is there to do at Latis? I do the same
shit day in and day out, wrote the entire API for our new product in 1.5
days, with exactly 2 bugs that were real bugs -- in a language (python)
that I learned the week before, and that is the absolute un-embellished
truth. Oh, and not to mention the requirements and the specification of
what the product will be and will do. Today I was nominated for VP of
the
local ISSA chapter. I have a patent. I am good at public speaking. I
would really like to be a researcher for a company like IBM or something
-
that is what I enjoy and am somewhat good at. Being the jack of all
trades does have its drawbacks. And let us not forget that Mitchell is
perfectly happy to see to it that I don't move up too much. That would
be
a threat to his job. And Rajat is happy with that situation. If I had
the means and the opportunity, I would give notice tomorrow. Maybe it
is
just my mood and the time of year, but shit - the future isn't exactly
stellar in terms of interest for me. I still believe that Latis will be
successful, and I also think that they can do it on their own now.

Obviously a touchy subject you hit on.
