Not at all. The only behavioural difference between the two protocols is
the authentication mechanism. Once you've been authenticated, it's the
same programs running the same routines.
Ssh is a much more secure, robust protocol than pserver.

Just what it said - you don't have write permissions to the directory.

Check the permissions for the specified directory,
/usr/local/cvsroot/Expresso.
