This newsgroup that you have posted to is not for WinCVS support.
The WinCVS newsgroup is here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/subscribe/cvsgui
There was also a newsgroup feed but yahoo recently broke it...
WinCVS is open source - if you have a feature you would like to see you
can certainly add it your self and submit the patch.
Also I think sourceoffsite implements a pure reserved model of
operation. CVSNT (free/GPL for Windows/Linux etc) *can* support
reserved (by setting files tp -k+x), but most users of WinCVS work in an
UNRESERVED way (and if you have a "traditional CVS server" then there is
no support for reserved as you would know it. In this case - multiple
editors of a file present no problem - so "seeing" who they are is less
critical. Also:
* each file may have multiple editors and so this column would be rather
crowded
* notifying the server that you are beginning work is optional so this
information would only show up if someone wanted you to know (again
CVSNT on Winodws/Linux etc supports "enforcing" this if you set every
file to -k+c)
