Hi all,
I have to setup a CVS server on Fedora Core 9. I am having some
problems in setting up the server and accessing it. I couldn't even check
out the directories from the machine on which the server in running. And I
could not access it from a remote machine also. Can anyone mail me the
instructions to setup and access a CVS server on "FedoraCore9" ?
Thank You
Srinivas

For the URLs below, please download
http://ftp.gnu.org/non-gnu/cvs/source/stable/1.11.22/cederqvist-1.11.22.html.tar.bz2
to your home directory and put a copy of it in /tmp.
cd /tmp
tar -xjvf cederqvist-1.11.22.html.tar.bz2
the Fine Manual starts here:
file:///tmp/cederqvist-1.11.22.html/cvs.html
you probably are looking for:
file:///tmp/cederqvist-1.11.22.html/cvs_2.html#SEC23
file:///tmp/cederqvist-1.11.22.html/cvs_2.html#SEC9
and
file:///tmp/cederqvist-1.11.22.html/cvs_21.html#SEC189
But if this is your first time working with CVS I suggest reading at least all
of sections 1, 2 & 3 before doing much else.
file:///tmp/cederqvist-1.11.22.html/cvs_1.html#SEC1
file:///tmp/cederqvist-1.11.22.html/cvs_2.html#SEC9
file:///tmp/cederqvist-1.11.22.html/cvs_3.html#SEC38
First question: which connection method are you trying to use?
Second question: did you allow that method to pass through the firewall?
third question: are you seeing SELinux messages in /var/log/messages, when you
attempt to do cvs operations?
In general the specifics of problems with CVS and F9 will probably come down
to the answers you give to the above questions, if the info is not in cederqvist.
