GNU Chess is a computer software program that plays chess. GNU Chess 5.02
is now available at http://www.gnu.org/software/chess/chess.html.

This version implements a comprehensive, self-learning opening book.
Full source to the opening book is supplied as well as full source to
the chess-playing software. The distribution is 31,742,157 bytes.

At the Internet Chess Club, GNU Chess 5 has attained a rating of
approximately 2600 in blitz and lightning chess.
