GLPK 2.4 -- Release Information
*******************************
Release date: May 10, 2001
GLPK (GNU Linear Programming Kit) is intended for solving large-scale
linear programming (LP), mixed integer linear programming (MIP), and
other related problems. It is a set of routines written in ANSI C and
organized in the form of a callable library.
Now GLPK includes an implementation of the GLPK/L modeling language,
which is intended for writing mathematical programming models. The name
GLPK/L is derived from GNU Linear Programming Kit Language.
A brief description of the GLPK/L language is given in the document
"GLPK/L Modeling Language: A Brief Description", which is included into
the distribution in plain text format (see the file 'language.txt' in
the subdirectory 'doc').
The language processor (which is a program that analyzes models written
in GLPK/L and translates them to internal data structures) is available
as the GLPK API routine.
The stand-alone solver GLPSOL now is able: a) to read model descriptions
written in the GLPK/L language; b) to solve pure LP problems using the
interior point method (therefore the program GLPIPM was removed from the
package).
Please note that the current version of GLPK is *tentative*.
See the official GNU web page about GLPK at
<http://www.gnu.org/software/glpk/glpk.html>.
GLPK distribution can be ftp'ed from <ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glpk/> or
from some mirror GNU site (see <http://www.gnu.org/order/ftp.html>).
You can also visit the author's web page dedicated to GLPK at
<http://mai2.rcnet.ru/~mao/glpk/index.htm> (please note that the web
server mai2.rcnet.ru works unstably, therefore this page sometimes is
unavailable).
