Why not just copy the files to an nnfolder group?
`C-u RET' (gnus-topic-select-group t)
`M P b' (gnus-uu-mark-buffer)
`B c' (gnus-summary-copy-article)

Do you want to use the old maildirs mails again as maildir on the new
machine? Then just copy the directories and point Gnus to the
directories.
