Hanging when fetching too much mails using pop

Hello,

When fetching too much mails (e.g. >30) using pop, Gnus hangs completely. I am
obliged to kill the process "emacs". Gnus does not always hang on the
same mail: it can be on the 5th or on the last-th.

Is there a solution?
