Dear Adam,

thank you for helping me on this issue.

I have Gnus v5.13 [Emacs 24.0.91 (9.0) on Mac OS X 10.7.2] and 
message-cite-style is "nil".  
When I first posted this question (I included the link in my first post) Eric 
Abrahamsen suggested to set "message-cite-reply-position" to "above". Is that 
what you meant?  I also found this via C-h v message-cite-style-gmail.  

The problem with this is that the signature is not placed correctly (see my 
post on 
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-gnu-emacs/2011-11/msg00362.html), namely 
below the quoted message.
Do you know how to solve this?
