My jail on Ubuntu 12.04 seems to be working really well - but I am having an issue with vim: jailed users can't use arrow keys or syntax highlighting

perhaps some of the vim additional files (in /usr/share/vim or so ??) are missing?

I thought I enabled editors by doing: jk_init -v /home/jail editors

I now have the editors config listed in my /etc/jailkit/jk_init.ini file:

[editors]
comment = vim, joe and nano
executables = /usr/bin/joe, /usr/bin/nano, /usr/bin/vi, /usr/bin/vim, /usr/bin/pico
regularfiles = /etc/vimrc
directories = /etc/joe, /etc/terminfo, /usr/share/vim, /usr/share/terminfo, /lib/terminfo

The only file I have in my /home/jail/etc/jailkit/ is the jk_lsh.ini

that sounds correct

if you don't use jk_lsh as shell you don't even need jk_lsh.ini inside the jail.
