I've no experience at all with zfs, so I can only give you some general
clues:
- possible there is some interface in /sys or /proc that is needed by
these tools?
- possibly these tools need to run as root? (and as root you can easily
escape a jail, so the jk_* tools strip any setuid root bits from
executables)
- have you tried strace to find out what goes wrong? See
