I submitted two patches to fix simplesearch and adjust all of the calls to it
to deal with the new interface. I sent it along to Galen.

But, the label search labels/label-item-search.pl doesn't properly deal with
the limiting and pagination. It looks like there's code in there to make it
work, but it's not quite all tied together. I'll have to get to this when I
return to town.
