No brick, hurray!
I was able to boot Guix SD on a drive with an unencrypted root partition
but encrypted /home.
There was no screen in GRUB so I didn't see the menu, but the first
entry must have been selected automatically and then I had to type in
the LUKS password for /home in darkness.
According to powertop, the only available c states are 1 and 2, just
like before.
