Hi I see with increasing frequency municipal governements pulishing their data under "open data" licenses, most often new licenses instead of existing recognized licenses. One recommendation that comes up is pointing them to http://opendatacommons.org/licenses/ and recommending they choose one license. Has the FSF commented on this or analyzed such licenses to determine which would be closer to FSF's mission/philosophy? I tend to favor the ODB but I'd like to have some other opinions on this: http://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/ IANAL, of course, so any legal sources/references would be welcome too.
