Actually a computer "obsoletes" after 5 years (proprietary software), and there
is no way to refurbish a "Mac".

Don't know if $300 which extends warranty includes failures only (from 1 to 3
years, so that's 2 year extension compared to sale amount), or any damage
(including fall from Empire State Building summit).

For a desktop computer, other damages than failure rarely arises.

So, RFY computer comes with standard parts (or parts coming from a large
production, such as processor), and [documented] reproductibles modifications.

If vendor or dealer fails, you can repair the computer elsewhere. Moreover it
can be refurbished in order to extends its life.

In France, dealer stores a large amount of parts or each to satisfy the 2 years
legal warranty (on failures).

What warranty extension never offers in France (generally for 1/3 of each
value, which is statistically a mad) is data recovery. That would be
interesting for something as sealed parts builded as a Mac.
