Okay, thanks.  Does the attached patch work for you?
(don't forget to run `reconfdirs=. ./bootstrap' to regenerate
config/mailnotify after applying the patch).


With the patch, mailnotify did send a message to address@hidden Much gooder.

Okay, I'll apply the patch.  Thanks for persevering with me.

When you next run commit, please use --debug, and send me the output if
things don't work as expected.
