Nick:
First question, why doesn't ever anyone log in to
savannah before submitting a patch?
The last change in your patch:
**************

! # NetBSD uses g++ - do we need to do anything?

osf3*)

! if echo __ELF__ | $CC -E - | grep __ELF__ >/dev/null; then
! _LT_AC_TAGVAR(archive_cmds, $1)='$LD -Bshareable -o $lib
$predep_objects $libobjs $deplibs $postdep_objects $linker_flags'
! wlarc=
! _LT_AC_TAGVAR(hardcode_libdir_flag_spec, $1)='-R$libdir'
! _LT_AC_TAGVAR(hardcode_direct, $1)=yes
! _LT_AC_TAGVAR(hardcode_shlibpath_var, $1)=no
! else
! # Workaround for some pre-1.5 ELF toolchains

case $cc_basename in
changes settings in the CXX tag only, is that what you had intended?
$LD is a no-no with C++, so I'm pretty sure you didn't intend this.
