The only extant problem on cygwin that I am aware of is the inability to build outside the sourcedir from a freshly bootstrapped CVS checkout -- but it's possible that Gary's 34-gary-default-libtoolize-auxdir.patch (posted today) fixed that. I haven't had a chance to try yet.

No such luck. Building outside the srcdir still fails. I've attached the output of configure:

  --srcdir=${srcdir} --prefix=${prefix} \
  --exec-prefix=${prefix} --sysconfdir=${sysconfdir} \
  --libdir=${prefix}/lib

Also, the output of make (just for kicks) after this failed configure:

Making all in .
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/libtool/devel/RELEASE/libtool-1.5a_20031107/.build' make[1]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/src/libtool/devel/RELEASE/libtool-1.5a_20031107/config/ltmain.sh', needed by `libtool'. Stop. make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/libtool/devel/RELEASE/libtool-1.5a_20031107/.build'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
