Thanks for the patch series, and the reviews.  Patches 1, 2, and 5 are
good to go.  Patch 3 is, too, if you have confirmed that the Libtool
testsuite passes with Autoconf 2.59 (thus also Automake 1.9.6) in PATH.
(It should be sufficient to do this test with all your patches applied.)
Please note which system you tested on.

Do you have write access, and if not, would you like write access or
should I commit those patches for you.  I see your papers are in place.

If anybody else has a problem with granting Paolo write access, then I
pre apologize for being so forward.
