libtool running with autoconf

Hi!


Though automake/autoconf/libtool are separate packages they were
intended to be used together and one could expect them to be used
in a somewhat plug-and-play manner.

but:

autoconf is not capable to recognize the existence of libtool
and therefore fails to include  the definition of AC_PROG_LIBTOOL

This means that it took me several hours to find out
that aclocal needs an option -I /opt/libtool-1.5/share/aclocal
to get rid of the following error message

error: possibly undefined macro: AC_PROG_LIBTOOL
      If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.

Could You please be so nice and communicate that little
but important piece of information in the top-level docs?
