In the 1.4.x series, hardcode_into_libs=yes for Tru64 UNIX, which seems
like fine behavior to me.
At some point in 1.5.x that was removed, so the default of
hardcode_into_libs=no is now in place. I can't find anything in the
ChangeLog or list archive about why that change was made. About the
only relevant hit in the list archive search is Albert's request to
make it yes for Tru64 et. al.:
http://mail.gnu.org/archive/html/libtool/2001-12/msg00032.html
Anyone know if the reversion to hardcode_into_libs=no was an intentional
change, and if so what the reasoning was?
Thanks,
Tim
