http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1700New patch up, to handle cases like that shown in the image so that the fingering '5' stays clear of the clef.
The example was reverse-engineered from figuring out what the old code was trying to do. I would like help to find a more realistic example, where a note-column would be well-clear of a bar-line ... unless a line-break puts a clef and key-signature there.
